What I Don't Like
Lush Cosmetics is committed to all-natural, cruelty free, “naked” products. This means that whenever possible, Lush does not include unnecessary packaging or additives.
When they do source packaging, they push for 100% recycled plastic bottles and pots. Furthermore, Lush Cosmetics is founder of the annual Lush Prize, designed to reward those who are researching and lobbying against animal testing in an effort for worldwide eradication.
The Lush Mask of Magnaminty is a direct reflection of what the brand represents. Pure, all-natural, organically sourced, and effective ingredients designed to give people what they want most out of a beauty product, safe ingredients that respond well to their skin.
Lush Mask of Magnaminty Review
The Lush Mask of Magnaminty is a minty, deep cleansing, back and face mask that thoroughly cleans skin impurities. Natural clay effectively digs out dirt from pores, ground aduki beans exfoliate and remove dead skin cells, while marigold oil and honey soothe the skin.
Lush Cosmetic founders, beauty therapist Liz Weir and trained trichologist Mark Constantine met in England at a hair and beauty salon. Soon thereafter, they decided to branch out and form their own business selling all-natural beauty and hair products with fresh ingredients.
Today, they offer a large variety of natural hair and beauty progress both online and in Lush beauty store.
Furthermore, Lush Cosmetics has a commitment against animal cruelty. Their end products are not tested on animals and they only purchase from suppliers that do not test on animals.
The Lush Mask of Magnaminty ingredients and packaging is naturally founded and sourced, so you can clean your face with a clear conscious.
Who is this product for?
This product was designed for any woman who wants to improve their skin care regime. Ingredients are said to be safe on all skin types, and especially effective on acne-prone, oily, and combination skin.
The list of soothing ingredients in this product are typically safe on sensitive skin, although some users have reported mild irritation either due to strong peppermint smell or other ingredients.
We recommend that those with sensitive skin air on the side of caution and test this product before use.
The product arrives in a 4.4 ounce black tub. The inside of the tub contains the grainy, green facemask, which not surprisingly, smells like mint. The product does not come with an applicator brush or plastic scoop for easy application as the product is meant to be applied with your hands.
We feel like a type of scoop or brush would have been easier and less messy to apply, but it didn’t take away from the effectiveness of the product.
Furthermore, the lack of an application brush and box attests to Lush Cosmetic mission of only using necessary, eco-friendly packaging when needed.
Overview of features
This body and facemask is minty and tingly. It was specially formulated to intensely clean, but is never abrasive or harsh.
Peppermint oil and kaolin clay work to rid your debris from pores while giving you a delightfully clean and tingly sensation. Ground aduki beans have also been added to exfoliate dry and flaky skin. Honey moisturizes and soothes, while vanilla extract calms redness.
Fresh ingredients include kaolin honey, bentone gel, glycerin, evening primrose seeds, talc, ground aduki beans, vanilla absolute, peppermint oil, chlorphyullin, and limonene fragrance.
The Lush Mask of Magnaminty is incredibly soothing and great for fighting oil and acne. However, we did find this product to be somewhat drying. We recommend following this mask with a natural moisturizer.
Overall it helps balance out skin, reducing acne and breakouts. The product leaves you feeling clean, tight a smooth.
Those with sensitive skin may have a mild reaction to some of the strong ingredients, so it’s best to test on a small area of your skin before use.
We recommend washing this mask off in the shower, as it is thick and can be messy to remove.
